It’s hard to accessorize in the summer time. It’s just too hot! Who wants to add things to your clothes, when all you want to wear is as little as possible in order to stay cool.
But now that the weather is cool, it’s fine to add accessories. Especially in our Wisconsin climate, when it’s so cold outside your breath literally freezes in the air. Adding layers is a good thing!
One of my favorite accessories is the scarf. I started wearing them a couple years ago. I found two scarves at a shop in the mall, for next to nothing. I didn’t quite know what to do with them, or how to wear them, until I stumbled upon this video at Big Mama’s blog. Suddenly, I was inspired!
I wear scarves with pretty much anything. If it’s a coolish day but the sun is still shining, I’ll wear something like this:
Then there’s those days that start out cool, but may get warmer later. Those days make wearing layers very necessary. I love this look:
My favorite, though, is those cold days. I’m used to them, living in the midwest all my life. Fall and winter are probably my favorite seasons. I love cuddling up in warm clothes. Hence loving scarves. There’s nothing that makes me feel more cozy than a warm scarf wrapped around my neck. It’s like an all-day hug. Here’s some of my favorite looks:
This is what I live in in the winter. Comfort all the way. Warm clothes, warm scarves. There’s so many different ways to wear scarves–and so many scarves to choose from! Since I knit and crochet, I also have a couple that I’ve made myself. For me, it’s the ultimate fun fall/winter accessory!
